In Despair Over Israel and the Jewish Present?

...Then come join us at B'nai Shalom this Saturday night at 9:15 pm. It’s Tisha b’Av, the annual day of mourning over all the hardest moments in Jewish history – from the destruction of the Temple some 2,000 years ago, to every generation’s worst communal moments.

As we struggle with what feels like ours, we will gather with our neighboring Conservative movement synagogues for a community-wide reading of Eicha, the Biblical book of Lamentations, and ma’ariv, the evening service.

Done by candlelight, it begins a 24-hour fast day, the only one aside from Yom Kippur. We have plenty to grieve, and plenty to pray for.  Being together can help us all express what is in our hearts... and strengthen the Jewish people as we do.
