Schedule for January 2025 and beyond below.

Join us on Saturday mornings for a weekly, experiential Shabbat program: engaging activities based on the weekly Torah portion, games, singing, discussion, snacks, and hanging out in a friendly and informal environment. Led by teens and master educator Grace Gurman-Chan and geared towards kids age 5-11, OhebKids welcomes those under 5 with a caregiver. Volunteer opportunities available for kids ages 11 and up.

Sat, Oct 18:

Sukkah in a sukkah. Come join us at 10:45 am in the Oheb sukkah to build mini-edible sukkahs and play Sukkot themed games. All are welcome. Please RSVP so we know how much supplies to get.

Sat, Oct 26:

Learner's Shabbat. Families are encouraged to attend the modified main service in the chapel with youth learner's shabbat programming starting at 10:45 am.

Grace Gurman-Chan served as Director of Education at United Synagogue of Hoboken for many years, and mentored educators in the Conservative, Reform, and Reconstructionist movements, including as a formal mentor at Hebrew Union College and The Jewish Theological Seminary.   She says, "I want our children to feel the excitement of Shabbat through moving, tasting, and experiencing ways of Torah, and to understand Jewish ways of being through lived experience. I hope you will all partner with me to encourage your children to enjoy our time together as we explore and appreciate the wisdom of the past and the awe these experiences have for the present and their future lives as Jews. Please introduce yourself when you see me. I look forward to our journey together."
